Savannah's Birthday Party

Savannah had her Birthday Party in September because it just worked out better then this year. She planned the party by herself with little help from mom.

We decided to incorporate this planning into a lesson for school...because every chance we get to use something for school is great! We gave her a budget she had to work with for the party, and then told her any money she had left she could spend at the mall. You best believe that was great motivation for her to "watch every penny!" she kept asking me how much food cost, and we shopped a lot looking at prices. She went through at least 3 dinner options before deciding on a fondue meal with her friends. They had a blast stabbing their food, and fighting over the last sliced up hot dog LOL! It was a hit...and very inexpensive! She and her friends came up with a great game where you had 2 teams, and dress up cloths in a basket for each team. Then you raced to get everything that was in the basket on, run to the other empty basket take the cloths off and the next person on the team had to do it. When everyone on your team went through it you were the winner. Great game idea girls! It was a hit:)

We made home made donuts for breakfast with powder sugar and cinnamon sugar on them and then headed to the mall. All the girls love walking the mall...but we all agree the prices are outrageous. We enjoyed a meal in the food court, and then parents picked their children up. I was beat!! It was fun, and a great lesson for Savannah on the cost of having a party. Oh and yes, she had $25.00 left from her budget to spend at the mall....great party Savannah!!!
